By default Windows 7 hides most of the file extensions. Here we will show you how you can show all file extensions: Open “Start menu”. Click “Computer”. Click “Organize”. Choose “Folder and search options”, from the menu. Choose “View” tab. From the list below, clear “Hide extensions from known file types” checkbox. Click “OK”.

How to show hidden files and folders
To show the hidden files and folders, do this: Open “Start menu”. Click “Computer”. Click “Organize”. Choose “Folder and search options”, from the menu. Choose “View” tab. From the list below, choose “Show hidden files, folders and drives”. Click “OK”. Now you will be able to see the hidden files and folders (except the system ones).
