By default Windows 7 hides most of the file extensions. Here we will show you how you can show all file extensions: Open “Start menu”. Click “Computer”. Click “Organize”. Choose “Folder and search options”, from the menu. Choose “View” tab. From the list below, clear “Hide extensions from known file types” checkbox. Click “OK”.

To show Network inside the Start Menu: Click with your right mouse button on the taskbar. Select “Properties”. Click on “Start Menu” tab. Click “Customize”. Find “Network” and tick the checkbox. Click “OK”. Click “OK”. You will see “Network” below “Computer” inside the Start Menu

How to show all icons in the notification area
If you want to show all icons on the taskbar (in notification area), this is how you can do it: Click on the little arrow, next to the icons. Click “Customize”. A new window is opened. On the lower left side you should see checkbox with title “Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar”. Put a tick on it. Click “OK”. You should see all your icons now.
